Poppins Corp. provides care from babies to elderly

Poppins Corp. was established 37 years ago to provide nanny service for working mothers. The founder was an executive who knew firsthand of the trouble with finding a trustworthy babysitter for her own daughter, and her company became the first in Japan to introduce the idea of nannies as educational babysitters.
The Poppins Group has expanded its business to provide comprehensive services for working women at various stages of their lives, from licensed nursery schools, after-school facilities and international schools to VIP care services for the elderly. The group is now headed by Maiko Todoroki, the daughter of the founder, who has extensive experience in living, studying and working abroad in addition to being a working mother herself. She drives the company forward with the unshakable belief “When women shine, society shines, and the world changes.”
The nanny service, which involves dispatching nannies to customers’ homes, meets the needs of each customer in terms of language, religion, culture and other factors. In addition to the Standard Course, whose various services include taking care of children at home, playing outside with them, helping them eat and taking them to and from nursery schools, there is the Premium Course, which comes with an exclusive concierge who helps a customer find a suitable nanny among a select group of top nannies, and also offers various options such as tutoring, housekeeping and taking care of children at places other than customers’ residences.
The company also runs three international and bilingual schools — Poppins Active Learning School, PALIS (Poppins Active Learning International School) and Poppins EDU School — in Tokyo’s Hiroo, Ebisu and Roppongi areas. The schools provide EduCare, a state-of-the-art program combining education and child care that was created in collaboration with prominent educational institutions from home and abroad to provide children with an environment that cultivates their intellect, sensitivity and physical fitness. The schools aim to help children maximize their potential and grow up to become active members of the international community.
The company also has expertise in taking care of pets. Poppins Pet Care operates in Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa and Saitama prefectures, providing high-quality care mainly for dogs, cats and other small animals of all ages at home. Compared to pet hotels, the at-home care service reduces stress on pets and gives their keepers greater ease and peace of mind. In addition to general care for pets such as walking, feeding, playing and cleaning up after them, the pet-sitter can also provide special care for older animals.
Poppins will continue to pursue its mission of supporting working women by paying attention to the changing needs of women, families and society.
