Graduated from the University of Oxford with a Ph.D. in chemistry in 2010. He was a research scientist at Tohoku University, and then in the Systems Engineering Laboratory of Toshiba’s Corporate Research & Development Center. In October 2015, he co-founded IntegriCulture Inc. to commercialize cellular agriculture biotechnology. IntegriCulture develops cell-based meat — a sustainable protein — and offers its production capability and technology to a variety of clients wanting to develop products involving cell culture. These include food, cosmetics, supplements, functional ingredients, pharmaceuticals and other biological and agricultural products.
